Dell Cloud Client-Computing (CCC) has tested and validated several end-to-end client virtualization solutions on Dell EMC infrastructure optimized for running VMware Horizon broker and vSphere/ESXi hypervisor. Horizon provides end users access to all of their virtual desktops, applications, and online services through a single digital workspace. Dell recommends select thin clients supporting the PCoIP and Blast Extreme display protocols, ideal for high-end graphics and a rich end user experience.

Access the Reference Architectures (RA):

True HCI VDI appliance powered by VMware vSAN and ESXi on pre-built VxRail platforms and EMC software. Ideal for organizations of all size looking for a turn-key VDI appliance bringing ease of implementation and management, and including built-in deduplication, HA and disaster recovery.

HCI VDI solution powered by VMware vSAN and ESXi on a variety of tested Dell EMC 13G server platforms, for you to build. It offers a high level of hardware flexibility, including the use of GPUs. Ideal for all organizations with some VDI expertise.

HCI VDI solution powered by VMware vSAN and ESXi on a variety of tested Dell EMC 14G server platforms, for you to build. It offers a high level of hardware flexibility, including the use of GPUs. Ideal for all organizations with some VDI expertise.

HCI VDI solution powered by ScaleIO SDS software and VMware vSphere and Horizon on Dell EMC PowerEdge servers. It offers a high level of hardware flexibility, including the use of GPUs. Ideal for very large organizations.

HCI VDI solution powered by Nutanix and VMware ESXi hypervisor, on a variety of Dell EMC server platforms. It supports also certified GPUs. Ideal for organizations of all size looking for ease of implementation and management. A particular version, the Dell XC Xpress, has been optimized for SMB organizations wanting to virtualize 100-350 seats with 3 or 4 nodes.

This RA is the recipe book for you to build a custom, flexible, on-premise VDI environment using VMware ESXi and Horizon. Based on Dell EMC 13G PowerEdge servers, this solutions allows you to use your existing networking and SAN infrastructure, or to use the Dell EMC ones recommended in the RA. The RA also supports high availability (HA), high-end graphics using Nvidia GRID GPUs, and recommends a series of compatible endpoints for an end-to-end solution.
